The evolution of translation studies in the 1970s marked a significant turning point for the field, moving away from prescriptive translation and towards a more theoretical approach. This shift in attitude allowed for a more comprehensive exploration of various issues related to translation, including socially relevant ones. Of all the problems in translation, the historical course of translation is considered the most significant. It's encouraging to see the discussion of the historical role of translation during the Sassanid period in ancient Iran, which sheds light on the invaluable contributions of translators in the growth of cultural richness. The oldest clay tablets obtained from the Sumerians in Mesopotamia, located on the Iranian plateau, which are estimated to be 3000 years BC, as well as stone inscriptions belonging to the Achaemenid kings, and most importantly, the first and largest translation centers of Indian, Greek, and Chinese books. In the world, like Jundi Shapour, it shows the historical roots of translation in Iran and the important role of translators.
