Scholarly attention on Farrokhzad can be categorised into two thematic patterns - Farrokhzad and Rebellion, and Farrokhzad and self-identity. These two views of women are somehow related with each other. This is especially clear in poetry where form expresses sense, and phonemic similarity is sensed as semantic relationship. In doing so, this study tried out to investigate Forough’s poems translation ideology based on Van Dijk’s theory critical discourse analysis (CDA). In this case, the researcher selected a purposive sample that comprised 10 translations of Forough’s poems. The study followed a comparative-qualitative design and the obtained data were described in line with van Dijk's (1998) ideological model. The results of the study showed that generally, there was no major violation of these critical dimensions of the ST in the translations covered in this study. In addition, Farrokhzad’s poems, as studied in this research in terms of personal and social cognition, were representations of feminine sensibility, voicing the inner self of a woman who speaks about love, hate, death and life, simultaneously. Her poetic gesture in most of her poetry was totally feminine.
