The present study was an attempt to investigate the relationship between personality traits and writing accuracy of Iranian intermediate EFL learners. In order to conduct the current research, out of a total number of 140 EFL learners of Simin Language Inistitute in Tehran, aged between 16 -28, 120 intermediate female students were chosen by convenience sampling method. After the administration of Nelson General Language Proficiency test, 80 students who were at the same level of English language proficiency were selected as main participants. The required data for this study came from two instruments: one questionnaire and one writing test. The Eysenck Personality Inventor (EPI) questionnaire was administered to determine participants’ personality traits, and writing test was given to check the participants' writing accuracy. To analyze the raw data of the research, Pearson correlations and multiple regression were run to answer the research questions. Testing the first research hypothesis showed that there were statistically significant relationships between the personality traits of Iranian EFL learners and their writing accuracy at intermediate level, and the first null hypothesis was rejected. The second null hypothesis was also rejected implying that the four components of personality trait questionnaire can predict participants’ writing accuracy. The findings of the present study may be beneficial to material developers, language educators, and language learners in Iranian EFL setting.
