چكيده
The present study sought to find out EFL teachers, teacher trainers and few administrators' perceptions about teacher training programs during the last four years, some challenges in implementation of in-service training programs for teaching English in Rasht senior high schools, District One, and the possible ways to improve in-service teacher training programs. A 20-item Likert scale questionnaire was developed to find out the answer to the first research question, using Google Form. It was submitted by fifty teachers, ten of whom were teacher trainers. To gain more reliable and complete response for the second and third research questions, eight teachers, two of whom were teacher trainers, and two administrators were interviewed. Almost all the participants who submitted the questionnaire believed that the current in-service training programs were inadequate and not much relevant to their classroom needs. They mentioned that all the courses held on LTMS and Raya Dars Websites were totally theoretical and about general topics. But there were contradictions in the teachers' words. Although most of the teachers and the teacher trainers claimed that face-to-face classes are better than virtual ones, they preferred to attend virtual classes due to lack of time, which was not a completely convincing answer. In the interview, they stated the reasons for their attitudes.
