چكيده
There are many studies that have worked on language learning and using technology to make the second langauge learning process more enjoyable. This study examined the impact of individualized podcasting on learning English pronunciation including suprasegmental features, word stress, rhythm and intonation. Eight Iranian EFL learners participated in this study. The study lasted for five weeks and the teacher integrated the process of using podcasts into her normal class instructions. In this study the first and the last podcasts made by the study subjects were used to measure the learners’ pronunciation quality as a pre-test and post-test, respectively to find out how much they improved in their pronunciation. There were two raters who rated the learnersʹ podcasts. Therefore, the analysis of learners’ performances was based on their reports. Findings showed that the learners had a significant level of advancement in all aspects of suprasegmental features. They learned suprasegmental features effectively and production of several podcasts was helpful for them. Moreover, after the study was over the participants reflected a positive attitude toward using the mobile program for teaching/learning pronunciation. The results were also in line with empirical studies on the value of using podcasting for learning English pronunciation.
