I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Mojgan Abshavi, my thesis advisor, for her invaluable guidance. Her teachings on Immanuel Kant’s aesthetic criticism in the Literary Criticism course rekindled my connection with philosophy. For years, I had been disheartened by the thought that I might never truly understan‎d Kant. However, her interpretations in class reassured me that my previous understan‎ding an‎d personal interpretations of Kant’s ideas were, to a great extent, accurate. It was in that very class that the initial spark for this thesis was ignited, based on the realization that there exists a deep connection between philosophy an‎d the various branches of art. This ultimately led me to choose a comparative study between philosophy an‎d literature as the subject of my research. I am equally indebted to my brother, Ehsan Hosseinzadeh Fard, who, in my moments of greatest despair, reached into the abyss an‎d pulled me from the cold embrace of nihilism. When the weight of existence threatened to consume me, he compelled me to press forward, urging me to complete this thesis as the first step toward achieving the elusive concept of success in life.
