Postmodernism, Features, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Gabriel Garcia Marquez

This thesis carries out an analysis of the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez through postmodern features. It achieves this goal by exploring how the author explains chaos of the Second World War by postmodern features and how he must have demonstrated the results of world war. As the matter of fact, postmodernism tries to show the absurdity of modernism and the bad effects of nihilism in the universe. Postmodernism offers mankind a set of principles to bear the universe and oneʹs life and to live the moments of life in the best possible way. Gabriel Garcia Marquezʹ One Hundred Years of Solitude is a combination of real and unreal situations which Marquez has presented us with the lives of people struggling with their daily routines and trying to change their fate and destiny. Regarding the range of these people experiences within the stories and Marquezʹ broad view towards mankindʹs condition in the universe, the present thesis tries to investigate into the postmodern crises that have befallen these people and highlight Marquezʹ solutions for them.
