چكيده
This study concerned Iranian EFL instructorsʹ awareness of pragmatic processing in L2 listening comprehension. Accordingly, 30 male and female expert instructors were asked to complete a conceptual questionnaire in order to determine the most important factors in listening comprehension in an Iranian context. It is worth mentioning that this questionnaire was based on Michael Rostʹs listening factors from a pragmatic perspective. To figure out the importance of these factors, they were all compared with each other, correspondingly. Then according to the data gathered from this step, the questionnaire was modified and it was administered to identify to what extent Iranian EFL Instructors were aware of pragmatic factors in L2 listening and to which factors Iranian EFL teachers pay more or less attention. Moreover, this study followed two methods of analysis; one AHP and the other one was factor analysis. The softwares employed in this research were as follows:
Supper decision, LISREL and SPSS
The participantsʹ responses to the first questionnaire indicated that some factors were more important than the others in an Iranian context and the descriptive analysis of the second questionnaire showed Iranian instructors were aware of the most Michael Rostʹs pragmatic factors and they would apply them in their listening classes.
